This Contemporary Ranch-style home is an original structure located within the Blackhawk-Wystone Residential Historic District documented in SurveyLA as recently as 2015. The district is composed of primarily Ranch style houses that are sited on large, half-acre lots and custom built by a variety of builders and/or architects. The period of significance has been identified as 1959-1966, which accounts for the primary period of development. Due to their custom design, no two houses are identical, but most are similar in massing, scale and form. Almost all are single story and designed in an array of Ranch house styles. Common features include rambling plans; complex roof forms; various cladding materials including wood, stucco and stone; picture pane windows; and decorative features including shutters and dovecotes. Houses within the subdivision were developed on an incremental basis between the late 50s and mid-1960s. Lots appear to have been sold to individual buyers, who then constructed custom-designed houses in accordance with an overarching aesthetic vision of the neighborhood. The three distinctive architectural styles associated with the district are Ranch Traditional, Ranch Minimal and Ranch Contemporary. The last of these constructed in 1966.
